What is the subject of Surah Asr? It is stated in this surah that those who believe and do good deeds for the world and the hereafter, and who advise each other to be truthful and patient, will not be disappointed. It got its name from the word ‘asr’ in the first verse, which means “time, age, afternoon”.

Surah Asr has 3 verses and was revealed in Mecca. 103 in the order in the Mushaf. It is the 13th sura in descending order. It was revealed after the Inshirah period, before the Adiyat Surah. There are also rumors that he descended in Medina.

Virtues of Surah Asr
If it is read to a person who has a disease that causes severe fever, he will find healing with the permission of Allah (swt).
If a person writes this surah on four different pieces of paper and places each of them in four different corners of the place he wants to be protected, Allah Almighty will protect that place against all kinds of disasters.
When two people from the Companions of our Prophet (saas) met, they would not leave until one of them recited Surah Asr to the other and then saluted.
Whoever continues to recite this surah will be bestowed with patience.
Although this surah is one of the shortest surahs, it has a richness of meaning that is worth considering as the essence of religious and moral responsibilities and advice expressed in the Qur’an.
Imam Shafi’i duration He said about it: “If no other surah had been revealed in the Qur’an, this very short Surah Asr would have been sufficient to ensure people’s well-being in this world and in the hereafter.”
